these are a few of my favorite SHOES!

'Allo 'allo!

Sadly, my ice cream adventures on thursday were THWARTED by the soda fountain place closing earlier than their website advertised.  All that anticipation made for one hell of a pout on my part.  I'm thinking that now I need to make the trek over to Pix Patisserie for a super extra treat since I'm even more craving some sugary deliciousness.  For anyone in the PDX area who has never had the joy of eating dessert at Pix, please go right now.  Get a treat.  TREAT!  Everything there is a miniature work of art with gold and glitter and is so decadent that you need to bring a friend with you to get through even one tasty cake.

Without further ado... SHOES!

These are perhaps my favorite shoes of all time, the Street Mix style by Swear of London.  Crazy ass 90s club kid shoes.  I have three pairs of these.  White ones, grey ones, and midcalf distressed boots that are fit to be worn by 14 year old japanese giant robot pilots.  They basically make pull any outfit together, at least for me.  I bought all my pairs off the Swear ebay store years and years ago, and as far as I can tell, Swear doesn't make anything like this anymore, and they are really hard to find on ebay.  I treasure mine.  They make great clown shoes, great burningman shoes, and just lend a cartoony aire to any costume or fancy dressup outfit.  It's always my goal to try and get my hair and shoe to match the rest of my garish proportions.  For those of you that don't know me in person, that just means I want big big hair and big big shoes to match my larger than average T&A.  ^_^  Makes me feel a little more proportionate and a little less freakish when I've got puffy perky pigtails and bubbly big sneakers going on.

The downside of these suckers is that the entire sole of the shoe is solid rubber and they are seriously heavy.  They're flats, and they even have some arch support, but there is zero flex to the sole.  Luckily, the soles have an intelligently designed shape, so they remain easy to walk in and relatively comfortable.  The main downside of course being that you just can't buy them anywhere.  If you find any swears used anywhere in ANY size, buy them!  You can probably resell them to some candy ravers or bat cavers on ebay for a good profit.

Now these are my next favorite silly giant platform sneakers, Buffalo's.  They aren't as wide as Swears, which gives them a less extreme look, but also makes them lighter and more comfortable, which in turn makes them easier to wear on a daily basis.  It's nice to have some fun striking looking sneakers to give some unique style to an every day outfit.

These you can still buy online, on Buffalo's website.  Sadly, they only have a few of their "classic" line left at this point, but hey, at least they are available new!  They used to have a huge variety of styles and colors, but the trends have changed, and alas, I am left with my one pair identical to the picture above.  Love em, I'll never get rid of them.  In fact, I'm wearing them right now!  Like I said, they're comfortable enough for me to wear in my daily life, which involves lots of walking, biking, and dancing around like an idiot.  ^_^

Here is the object of my current shoe lust.  I've never been a high heels girl, platforms sure, but flats all the way.  My experience with heels has been limited to standing and looking nice to pictures, to a few excruciating experiences at high school dances where I ended up hobbling around in bare feet by the end of the night.  I've had limited success with low heel highs, but I've secretly always longed for some comfy girly heel heels that I could dress up or down.

I've always been a fan of Fluevog's.  I've had a few pairs in my life that I've lovingly worn through, like bubbly black wingtips that would have fit perfectly on Minnie Mouse.  Right now I have a pair of knee high black boots with buckles (The Bond Girl) and some midcalf laceups with toecaps that I love dearly.

But these ^ oh man.  These are pure sex.  And apparently the funny round chunky heel is specifically designed to be comfortable for the girls that never wear heels.  Hey, that's me!  Perhaps if I'm good and I save up, I will check them shits out the next time I go up to Seattle and find my size.

Ah, chucks.  In highschool I had many many pairs of Converse All Stars, in a whole rainbow of colors, including winter camo.  I got the lowtops, and my best friend got the hightops.  Very recently, I rediscovered my love of Chucks.  I have a plain black pair of all stars that I wear almost every day.  They look good with everything, with their dirty white toe caps.  So classic!  Luckily you can still find these everywhere, and for cheap if you don't want any of the fancy ones.

But I could never hope to wear any of these shoes without the most important thing of all!

Superfeet insoles!

I have several pairs of superfeet insoles and they get swapped out throughout all my pairs of shoes.  They make all the ridiculous things I like to wear infinitely more comfortable.  In fact, most of the shoes without insoles are, to me, unwearable for more than a few hours.  I am carless, so I walk and bike and bus everywhere I go and comfortable footwear is of utmost importance.

Hence, insoles!  They have a wide variety to fit into everything from athletic shoes to dress shoes.  I love love love them because they make my feet happy.  I'm spoiled now and can't imagine wearing shoes without perfect heel and arch support ever again.

Except flip flops.  I loooove my squishy reef flip flops.  But it's still to cold for those.  Soon, so very soon it will be sockless weather.

Ta-ta for now, internets.  Until next time, check out Elijah's etsy shops.  I just finished making him shiny new banner images for these two.  I think my photoshop skills are getting better!

I will tell you which shoes are pure sex... it is these. And they are on sale. But I'm not sure what that means for me and these shoes at this point in our relationship.
